Terms of use

The plain-language terms for using WealthWise: educational estimates only, no warranty, your decisions are yours, and acceptable use.

Updated Sep 2026

These are the terms for using WealthWise. They are written in plain language so that you can actually read them. They are not legal advice, and nothing on this site is. By using the site you agree to what is described below.

What the site provides

WealthWise provides free financial calculators and educational articles. The calculators produce estimates based on the assumptions you enter and on the formulas published on the methodology page. The articles explain how common financial products work. That is all the site does: it does not offer loans, accounts or any financial product, and it does not give advice about which product you should choose.

Estimates, not advice

Every number a calculator produces is an estimate. It depends entirely on the inputs you provide and on simplifying assumptions, such as a fixed interest rate and payments made on time every month. Real loans and real debts involve rates, taxes, insurance, fees and terms that vary by lender, location and time, so your actual figures will differ. Nothing on WealthWise is financial, tax, legal or investment advice. The disclaimer says more about this.

No warranty

WealthWise is provided as it is. The site works hard to keep the math correct and tests every calculator against fixed known-answer cases, but it does not promise that any estimate is accurate, complete or suitable for your situation, or that the site will always be available or free of errors. If you spot something that looks wrong, please let the site know through the contact channel listed on the about page.

Your decisions are yours

You are responsible for any decision you make using the site, including decisions about borrowing, repaying, buying or refinancing. WealthWise is not responsible for losses or costs that follow from relying on an estimate. Before making a significant financial decision, check the figures with the lender or provider involved and consider talking to a qualified professional.

Acceptable use

You may use WealthWise for personal, educational purposes. Please do not:

  • attempt to break, overload or interfere with the site or its services;
  • use automated tools to scrape the site at a rate that disrupts it for others;
  • misrepresent the site's estimates as guarantees, quotes or offers;
  • present WealthWise content as your own or remove attribution from it.

Intellectual property

The text, explanations, design and code of WealthWise belong to the site's operators unless otherwise stated. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link. The numbers you enter and the estimates you produce for your own use are yours to keep and share as you like.

The site may link to other websites, and when partner features are enabled it may show clearly labeled offers or referral links. Those sites and offers are run by other organizations under their own terms, and WealthWise is not responsible for them. The disclosures page explains how they are labeled.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the site grows. When they do, the updated version is published here and the date at the top changes. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you would rather not, you can simply stop using the site; there is no account to close.
